adam and ileya

This past weekend, my 2nd son, Adam was married to Ileya. It was such a gorgeous fairytale wedding, a floral heaven. The wedding was held at the museum of natural science, in front of the butterfly exhibit. Ileya was glowing, and both her and Adam were overcome with emotions. They are so connected, so in love. I wish them a long, happy, healthy, successful, and magical life together. I love you both, adam and ileya. Here's a few pics to wet your appetite.

Can you hear me now?

Wanted to share with you, the excitement that is being created by the installation of the David Adickes sculpture “The French Telephone” that is being installed today at the business of a very good friend of ours, Pictures Plus. It is very exciting to have one of David Adicke's sculptures at Picture Plus's new location. David’s works are on display in ten major art museums and in many countries as well as private collections around the world. He is best known in Texas for his Sam Houston statue, which is 67 feet on a 10 bronze base in Hunstville, Texas. It's a sight that so many of us drive by when traveling that highway. Thank you Pictures Plus for bringing this fabulous and grand sculpture to share with the community.

Yuck

Last week we starting our landscaping project. All of the beds were cleaned out, leveled, and prepared for new plants. Since this project started, we have been overrun with roaches. I don't know what the deal is. I guess we've disturbed their homes. So tonight, I opened the back door to let Buddy out, and just when i opened it, a huge roach flew in and landed on my skirt. I'm sure Heather and Eric heard me scream all the way in India!!!! Quickly a gave my skirt a big shake and i fell to the ground. CRUNCH, I got it, smashed it flat. The exterminator was out today, as well.

What's under the bowl?

Living on the water always brings little critters into the house. In our prior home, we had a doggie door for our pup, buddy. This gave larger critters the welcome mat into the house. We had several squirrels, a baby possum, a snake, lots of lizards, and who knows what else. Well, in the new house, i said "no doggie door". Somehow, a little critter made his way in, luckily he fit right under the bowl. Can you guess what it was? The last bowl covered a baby snake. Not this time...just a lizard. All day long i kept hearing it tap tap tap around the bowl. He had to wait all day to make it to safety until eddie came home and released him. We told him to stay out, next time I won't be so nice.

Did you hear about the lady in florida who found an alligator in her kitchen!!!! I guess i am lucky, afterall, we also have alligators in our creeks.

snip snip

Heather's braids are itching, driving her crazy!!!!

Heather, you could have unbraided them....nope, she cut them off!

Oye Vey, a work in progress....what's left to do now?

Eric did the honors....

Eric and Henry....oh, it's heather, sorry

This is what Eric had to say about heather's new do:

"I'm really proud of her for doing it because it only proves how real she is as a person. Heather doesn't care about what people think of her, she is who she is and doesn't pretend to be any other. Our society is full of people who are too chicken #*@! to be who they really are. This behavior is exactly what we ran from back home and it is yet another reassuring sign of spontaneity, honesty, and truth. I admire that about heather"

Personally, I think Heather is so brave, brave to do what she wants. Heather, you and Eric are true free spirits, and this is exactly the message you show: it's on the inside that counts. I love you both. If you can't handle the American society when you com back for adam and ileya's wedding, then you both can borrow our clown wigs.
