Just finished reading: The Reader, by: Bernard Schlink
At the time I started reading it, I had no idea that it was being made into a movie. Here's the trailor link: http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi1750597657/
For 15-year-old Michael Berg, a chance meeting with an older woman leads to far more than he ever imagined. The woman in question is Hanna, and before long they embark on a passionate, clandestine love affair which leaves Michael both euphoric and confused. For Hanna is not all she seems. Years later, as a law student observing a trial in Germany, Michael is shocked to realize that the person in the dock is Hanna. The woman he had loved is a criminal. Much about her behaviour during the trial does not make sense. But then suddenly, and terribly, it does - Hanna is not only obliged to answer for a horrible crime, she is also desperately concealing an even deeper secret. 'A tender, horrifying novel that shows blazingly well how the Holocaust should be dealt with in fiction. A thriller, a love story and a deeply moving examination of a German conscience' INDEPENDENT SATURDAY MAGAZINE

Dana's been in the hospital with preterm labor since monday.
So far, with meds, she's still holding on.
She was also given steroids so that the baby's lungs will develop faster.
Dana is presently 34 1/2 weeks pregnant.
Keep them in your prayers.

Guess who's coming home on Saturday!

This visit will last 2 1/2 weeks, and then they will once again return to Costa Rica to continue studying at the SAT Yoga Institute.
They have been traveling towards an inward journey ever since they set foot in India. Costa Rica is also home to a number of spiritual communities (not referring to religious) that foster meditation, yoga, spiritual growth, self realization and a life that is not focused on material possessions. They have enjoyed exploring these avenues and would like to see where it takes them.

This is Shadow, Eric and Heather's dog.
I decided that since he sheds so much, to shave him.
He loved the shave, he just layed there with his eyes shut, as if I were giving him a massage.

Costa Rica

Where were you over winter break?
We were in Costa Rica!!!

Learning to cook some Costa Rican dishes with the family Eric and Heather is staying with.
Muddy boots during one of our bird watching hikes.

I brought my magic tricks and face paints to entertain the kids of the family
that Eric and Heather are staying with.

They loved the balloon fun that eddie created.

Eric, Heather, and Josh.

Ginger grows wild in CR.

Eddie resting in the hammock on our bungalow porch.

One of the many monkeys we saw in the trees.
Heather and Eric next to a gigantic leaf.

Me and Eddie at one of the many waterfalls.

A great shot of a toucan. The birds, flowers, animals and plants were just amazing.

Arenal Volcano....one of the active volcanos in Costa Rica.

Josh enjoying the natural hot springs.

Me, Eric, and Heather at the airport.
